A siege-gun or cannon-royal is the heaviest class of cannon, firing 50 and 68 pound shot. As suggested by their name, they are deployed in siege warfare as their ponderous weight would otherwise make them impractical against monsters. Siege-guns may have been deployed by the Turkemen at the Battle of the Gates.
